I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at Duke. My work falls primarily within moral philosophy, including moral psychology, applied ethics (especially bioethics and the philosophy of education), and feminist philosophy. I have additional interests in metaethics, as well as social and political philosophy. My dissertation concerns the role of empathy in promoting positive relationships between people who are antagonistic and sharply opposed on issues of moral, social, and political importance.
Before coming to Duke, I completed my M.A. in Philosophy at Tufts, and before that I was a double major in Philosophy and Literary Studies at The New School.
